OMS app: Finding and reviewing order details

Learn how to find, open, and review new orders in the Breadstack OMS tablet app. These steps are typically the first thing staff do after an order is placed.

In this article, you'll learn:



What happens when a new order is placed?

  • The OMS app plays a notification sound (if enabled)

  • A new-order popup appears on the screen

  • The order is added to the New Orders tab

If receipt auto-printing is enabled and the order’s payment method supports it, a receipt may print automatically when the order appears.



Responding to the new order popup

The new-order popup shows basic order details and gives you two options:

  • Acknowledge – Closes the popup and sends the order to the Pending Picking section of the New Orders list.

  • Items Ready – Marks the order as ready immediately and moves it to the Ready for Pickup section (only use this if the order has already been picked and packed).

If you’re busy or plan to process the order shortly, tap Acknowledge.



Using the New Orders list

Open the New Orders tab to see all orders that have not yet been completed. The most recent orders appear at the top.

Orders are grouped into two sections:

  • Pending Picking – Orders that still need to be picked and packed.

  • Ready for Pickup – Orders that are prepared and waiting for pickup or delivery.

Information shown for each order

In the list view, each order shows key details at a glance, including:

  • Fulfillment method icons (pickup, delivery, or mail)

  • Order number and customer name

  • Number of items in the order

  • Order value

  • Payment status icon

    • Orange: payment pending

    • Green: payment processed

  • Ready Before time, which reflects the customer’s selected pickup or delivery window

  • Order placement date

  • Notes, if any were added to the order

All of this information matches what you see in the Breadstack desktop app, and updates sync in real time.


Searching for a specific order

If you’re looking for a particular order:

  1. Tap the search bar at the top of the New Orders list.

  2. Enter the order number or customer name.

The list updates automatically to show matching results.



Opening and reviewing order details

Tap any order in the New Orders list to open the order details panel. From here, you can review:

  • Items included in the order and their quantities

  • Fulfillment method (pickup, delivery, or mail)

  • Order total and payment method

  • Customer and order notes

Some actions in the order details panel—such as printing receipts or marking items ready—may only be available once the order is ready to be processed. This can vary depending on payment method and store setup.



What to do next

After reviewing the order details, most staff will continue with one of the following tasks:

  • Pick and pack the order

  • Mark the order as Items Ready

  • Complete the order when the customer arrives or delivery is confirmed
