WordPress: Publishing a blog post

Step 1: Log in to WordPress

Log into your WordPress admin page (for example:
https://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin). -
In the left-hand menu, click Posts.

Click Add Post.

This will open the WordPress editor where you can create your post.
Step 2: Add your blog post content

Enter a title at the top of the page.

Use the editor to add content:
-
Paragraph blocks for text
-
Heading blocks to organize sections
-
Image blocks to upload or insert images
-
Links to other pages or products, if needed

WordPress automatically saves drafts as you work, but you can also click Save draft at any time.
Step 3: Configure post settings
On the right-hand side of the editor, you can adjust basic post settings:

Permalink
Review the URL to make sure it’s clear and readable. -
Featured image
Set a featured image if your theme displays one for blog posts. -
Categories and tags (optional)
Use these to help organize your blog content, if your site uses them.
Step 4: Preview your post

Click Preview to see how the post will look on your live site.

Check:

Formatting and spacing
-
Images and links
-
Desktop and mobile layout

Step 5: Publish the post
When you’re ready:

Click Publish.

Confirm by clicking Publish again.
Your blog post is now live.
Step 6: Verify on your website
After publishing:

Visit your website’s blog or news section.

Confirm the post appears correctly and links work as expected.
Keeping your blog up to date

You can edit a post at any time by returning to Posts in WordPress.

Review older posts periodically to ensure content is still accurate and relevant.
